These beautiful handcrafted, one-of-a-kind mezuzahs are individually carved from a solid piece of olive wood from trees grown in the land of Israel.
Made exclusively for My Olive Tree, each mezuzah is carefully hand carved with the traditional letter Shin, which is reflective of the name of God, ‘El Shaddai,’ often translated as, ‘God Almighty.’ Space is carved out on the back of each mezuzah that will hold a piece of paper to be gently rolled and inserted. This paper contains the words of Deuteronomy 6 — “Hear of Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is One…” — as a daily reminder that as you come and go from your dwelling place, the Lord’s presence is always with you.
Each mezuzah is approximately 6” in length x 1.25” wide x 1” high.
Mezuzah paper scroll in Hebrew and English, plus installation instructions are included.

Description
The mezuzah is a physical reminder that the Lord dwells with and in you—both outside of our homes as our Protector, and inside our homes, as we rest in His presence. It is a reminder of the command in Deuteronomy 6:4-9…
“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength… And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up… You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.”
We are to teach our children His ways, which leaves a legacy. We do that by talking about His presence as we…
- Sit in our houses
- Walk by the way
- Lie down
- Rise up
In other words, as we live, we are to meditate on God’s Word. As we come and go in our homes, we are to dwell on Him.
The Qiesieh family, the artisans who make these beautifully handcrafted mezuzahs as a way to provide for themselves, own souvenir shops in both Bethlehem and Jerusalem. For many years they have made their living crafting olive wood items such as figurines and nativity scenes for tourists.
However, when the coronavirus hit in 2020, tourism stopped and so did sales in their shops.
Since this time the Qiesiehs barely had enough food to fill their stomachs, so they were forced to barter their beautiful olive wood for meat.
My Olive Tree heard about their plight and reached out to help. George and Elijah, the two Qiesieh brothers who own their souvenir shops and do all of the woodworking themselves, were thrilled when we asked them to create these unique, one-of-a-kind, olive wood mezuzahs, exclusively made for the My Olive Tree online store.
Your purchase of every mezuzah helps the Qiesieh family in Israel overcome financial needs in this difficult time by providing the extra income necessary to put food on their table.
Thank you!
