4 Reasons Why Israel’s Economy is Booming

Israel is one of the most resilient, strategic and advanced economies in the world. Israel consistently ranks high in venture capital and technological advancement. Historically, the Jewish nation has had many ups and downs, but in ways we can all identify with her perseverance. Have you been through personal trials that have left you stronger? This key attribute is what sets this nation apart.

Reviewing their history, the Israelites spent 40 years wandering in the wilderness, later to claim their land that was “flowing with milk and honey” (Exodus 33:3). This precious land and its people are no strangers to devastation and attacks, but always seem to dawn again stronger and more solidified.

One aspect of Israel’s lasting resiliency is her economy. Every nation struggles and rebounds at different points throughout their history, but Israel went from dry and barren to thriving and blooming in a considerably brief time.

It’s worthwhile to learn from Israel’s economy and abiding character.

Israel was recently placed third on the list of the world’s most promising and stable economies, according to Bloomberg L.P.

Here are some attributes that contribute to Israel’s economy:

  1. Solidarity and identity— When a group has suffered as the nation of Israel has, it brings about unity within the people. Though small in comparison to other nations, they stand together, desiring to serve one another. Though they have struggled in the past at the hands of many, they have a strong sense of survival.
  2. Work Ethic— The Jewish nation is built on work ethic, rebuilding and bringing life back to the desert; this strength has benefited other nations. In Jewish culture the idea of Tikkun Olam, literally “world repair” in Hebrew, goes back to the nation’s roots. This concept is about caring for each other and those less fortunate to bring restoration and transformation to society.
  3. Innovation— Some of the world’s most technological advancements were birthed out of the Jewish nation. Miraculously, with limited water, olive groves and other crops have received adequate water to produce harvests year-after-year due to drip irrigation.
  4. Education— The Jewish people place high value on education; understanding through the institution of education, lives and communities thrive. Unfortunately, anti-Semitism had forbade the Jews to own and cultivate their land. However, this forced the Jewish people to find innovative ways to make a living. Thus, a pursuit of and emphasis on education.

From these reasons, it is undeniable that the Jewish people have rebuilt their economy and reclaimed their homeland through pure determination and endurance. They hold a unique role in our world today, just as they did in ancient biblical times.
