Today in Israel, a verse from Isaiah rings through the green olive groves in the Kidron Valley just east of Jerusalem, and the flourishing vineyards in ancient Edom.
“Learn to do good; seek justice, rebuke the oppressor; defend the fatherless, plead for the widow.”—Isaiah 1:17
Olive trees are planted to give a voice to those who are otherwise forgotten. Our olive trees allow you to stand with them and sow lasting seeds of hope.
The Widow. The Farmer. The Defender.
For the Holocaust survivors who faced persecution only a short time ago in history, the sight of their homeland in bloom rejuvenates their spirit and gives them hope for their future.
“The wilderness and the wasteland shall be glad for them, and the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose…”—Isaiah 35:1
For the farmer whose livelihood is established by the work of his hands and diligently tills the soil to provide for others.
“And God said, ‘See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you, it shall be for food.’”—Genesis 1:29
For the Israeli soldiers who risk their lives every day to defend their borders, their homeland, and their people to witness the nations united for their safety.
“…for the Lord your God is He who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.”—Deuteronomy 20:4
These faces are the reason My Olive Tree responds to the verse in Isaiah 1:17. Together, we stand together for Israel, so that the voice of the voiceless is heard and not forgotten.
My Olive Tree’s Humble Beginnings
It was in 2004 when Curt Landry, founder of My Olive Tree, sat down with Israel’s then finance minister, now former prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, to discuss a $20 million-dollar humanitarian aid initiative.
But Curt’s vision changed only a few years later… to something bigger than he could have imagined after Benjamin Netanyahu shared his hope for his nation.
The finance minister wanted a solution, not a temporary fix. His dream for Israel was to be a prosperous nation through economic dependence—and for My Olive Tree to be a part of it.
Though he was hesitant at first, not knowing how it all would be accomplished, Curt placed his faith in the Lord and remembered His promises to Israel and the Church.
“‘On that day I will raise up the tabernacle of David, which has fallen down, and repair its damages; I will raise up its ruins, and rebuild it as in the days of old; that they may possess the remnant of Edom, and all the Gentiles who are called by My name,’ says the Lord who does this thing.”—Amos 9:11-12
My Olive Tree… 15 Years Later
My Olive Tree is privileged with the unique opportunity to partner directly with the City of Jerusalem and the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). Through this partnership, we can access the land and resources necessary to achieve our mission of planting 1 million olive trees in Israel.
Also, both the Israeli Olive Oil Board and the Israeli Ministry of Agriculture endorse our ministry and support this powerful partnership with Israel.
What’s different about our planting efforts?
My Olive Tree plants hardy olive trees in the Negev Desert, on Israeli army bases, and in kibbutzim throughout the Holy Land, giving you a physical connection to the Promised Land like no other, that lasts for centuries.
Our long-trusted relationship with the City of Jerusalem and the IDF allows us to plant in places where others cannot. Places such as a terror tunnel in southern Israel at Manache Reim—the Israeli Army Base headquarters for the Gaza Strip.
One of the troops discovered a tunnel that was running directly under the base and directly under the My Olive Tree Peace Grove site.
Had this tunnel not been discovered, Hamas terrorists could have inverted the tunnel and caught the brigade by surprise as they transported terrorists and weapons from Gaza to Israel.
Our trees at Manache Reim were sponsored as a demonstration of peace and solidarity with the nation of Israel. At the time, Lieutenant General Commander Mickey Edelstein, with the help of a Muslim Bedouin IDF sergeant, facilitated our first planting and oversaw the project with unified hearts—further demonstrating the peace we desire to see in Israel!
We seek your sponsorship for the planting of olive trees in Israel so that …
- Your loved ones can be memorialized in the land sacred to your heart.
- Jobs can be created for generations to come, strengthening Israel’s economy and, in turn, ours.
- Biblical prophecy of Israel’s restoration, with the help of the Church, can be realized and fulfilled—making the desert bloom!
The olive tree is a symbol of peace. They signify your support for Israel’s peace and prosperity, just as God has called you to do.
“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: ‘May they prosper who love you. Peace be within your walls, prosperity within your palaces.’”
—Psalm 122:6-7
The olives trees planted in your name and the name of your loved ones are directly planted into the Holy Land soil. When you choose to stand in support of Israel with us, you are literally putting down roots in God’s land—roots of trees that will usher in the Messiah.
