Israel Is Working to Find Coronavirus Vaccine | Humanity Combatting the Coronavirus Together

COVID-19 Vaccine

In recent news, you likely have heard that the medical industry and scientific researchers are working hard to find a Covid-19 vaccine. With such rapidly changing news feeds, it is challenging to determine what the latest is regarding this research. But what we do know is that Israeli doctors and researchers have been one of the leading nations in the field.

Scientists at MIGAL Research Institute in Israel expect to start producing a Covid-19 vaccine in the next eight-ten weeks, based on their avian coronavirus Infectious Bronchitis Virus (IBV) vaccine.i This was a report given by Pharmaceutical Technology on March 2.

In a Covid-19 world, March 2 seems like an eternity ago. So much can happen from day to day and from hour to hour. However, it also shows how Israeli doctors and people around the world have been working hard since the virus’ debut to find a cure and treat the symptoms.

There Is a Process to Get a Covid-19 Vaccine Approved

Even after a vaccine is proven to work, it must be tested. This could take anywhere from a few months to years. Therefore, knowing that this process takes time, it is even more important to understand, that we, as humanity, must work on combatting the coronavirus together. We are “fighting that [which] is invisible,” as President Trump explained in a news conference from the White House on March 17.

Israel, along with a host of other nations, is working hard to ensure the safety of humanity, not just for the people within their own borders, but for the world.

Israeli Researchers Are Optimistic When It Comes to Diagnosing and Treating the Coronavirus

The Israel Institute for Biological Research is making significant headway in understanding the coronavirus. They are optimistic that improved testing and diagnostic capabilities are right around the corner, along with vaccines and antibodies for those who have the virus, as Haaretz reports.ii

In Israeli fashion, they are gearing help to bless the nations. They have developed test kits that give results with 25 minutes. They are sending those test kits beyond their borders.

Viruses and diseases have no borders, Kamil Abu Rokon said. ‘That's why stopping the spread of the coronavirus in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank are an Israeli interest because such an outbreak may endanger the health of the people of Israel.’” iii

It has also been reported they have donated several hundred coronavirus test kits and 20 tons of disinfectant to the Palestinian Authority.iv

Wow! This truly reveals the heart of God’s nation: to love, value life, and do what is right and good.

The IDF Steps Up Efforts to Combat the Coronavirus

Just as the United States is taking precautions and asking all citizens to practice social distancing and be extra mindful of keeping hands and surfaces sanitized, Israel is practicing similar methods simultaneously. The Israeli government has recruited IDF soldiers and teens to help keep public places sanitized.

The Takeaway

In short, we need to reflect on what President Trump has communicated and what the COGAT commander Kamil Abu Rokon said. This is an invisible enemy we are up against. It is one that does not discriminate nor stop at borders.

Therefore, as mankind, we must value life, we must value health, and we must value each other. We need to understand the importance of combatting the virus and the ripple effects of it with grace and perseverance.

The only way to do that is to follow what Jesus Himself says…

We do not need to be fearful. We do not need to doubt. God is in control and this is an opportunity to seek Him and find Him as our refuge and strength.
