My Olive Tree is the leading bridge for the evangelical community to create an environmental and spiritual partnership with the nation of Israel by providing the ability to sponsor olive groves and vineyards throughout the Negev Desert in Israel thereby fulfilling the prophecies of restoration in Amos and Isaiah.
One of our keynote projects that began in 2014 is our Peace Grove that is located over terror tunnels in an army base near the Gaza Strip.
We named this grove the Peace Grove because of the significance of the word “peace.” According to Strong’s Concordance the word peace occurs 429 times in 400 verses in the King James Version.
We see it first in Genesis 15:15 where it says: “ Now as for you, you shall go to your fathers in peace; you shall be buried at a good old age.” (NKJV)
The last place we find it is in Revelations 6:4: “ Another horse, fiery red, went out. And it was granted to the one who sat on it to take peace from the earth…” (NKJV)
From Genesis to Revelations we see peace demonstrated in people, places, and situations, and we see the destruction that happens when peace is not present.
The Hebrew word for peace is “shalom.” Strong’s Concordance 7965 says that shalom is translated as: completeness, soundness, welfare, peace, prosperity, friendship, contentment, peace from war…
In Israel “shalom” is used as a greeting and to bid others farewell. But! It is so much more than just saying “hello” or saying “good-bye.” It is decreeing peace into the atmosphere with every greeting and parting.
When you say “shalom” you are saying…you are decreeing: may you walk in completeness…may you walk in prosperity…may you live free from war.
And with each tree planted in our Peace Grove our sponsors are saying the same thing with their gift. Each olive tree is a living gift of good welfare, friendship, prosperity, completeness, and peace from war.
Shalom friends!
