As the holidays fast approach, the questions concerning gifts often come around… What makes a good gift? What fits each person and/or family’s personality, interests, and tastes? What can we afford?…
There are a lot of things to consider, but here at My Olive Tree, we hope we can help with gift ideas for a variety of interests and budgets!
Gifts for the Cook and/or Baker:
Most of us have a friend or family member who loves to cook or bake, and at My Olive Tree we have a few options that will please not only your favorite cook and/or baker, but support Israel as well… and all the while, bring to the recipient a special connection to the land of Israel!
- EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL—from the King’s Valley of Jerusalem, Israel
The King’s Valley is beautifully nestled between two historic Holy Land locations within the City of Jerusalem in the Kidron Valley—an ancient area located between the Temple Mount and the Mount of Olives.
This area was once the site where the kings of Israel walked throughout what was once a beautiful, lush garden. This is also the area where the King of kings—Jesus Christ, the Messiah—will once again walk through upon His return (see Zechariah 14).
While many may be familiar with the historic significance of both the Temple Mount and the Mount of Olives, few are as familiar with the valley that lies below them. This scenic valley holds the memory of King David’s footprints as he crossed to escape his son Absalom’s attack (see 2 Samuel 15:23)… and Jesus’ journey as He escaped from Jerusalem to Bethany (beyond the Jordan) mentioned in the New Testament (see John 10:39-40).
This extra virgin olive oil is harvested directly from My Olive Tree sponsored trees in the King’s Valley of Israel. The harvested oil is cold pressed—manufactured on the original day of harvest. The process of cold pressing retains the oil’s aroma, nutrients, and flavor better than other pressing methods that use heat.
(As of 11/20/2019 it is ON SALE for $12!* Regular $24.77. Plus, the more you buy the more you save—buy 2 or more and save 15%, buy 7 or more and save 20%, and buy 13 or more and save 25%!)

This beautiful mezuzah is decorated with a raised, “grafted-in” symbol. The word mezuzah is synonymous with doorpost. Mezuzahs are found on the doorposts of traditional Jewish homes today and are a reminder to “write the words of God on the doorposts of your house” (see Deut. 6:4-9).
Let the prayer warrior in your life go in and out of their home remembering the Word of the Lord—just as His Word rests within the body of the mezuzah, it rests in their hearts.

The ram’s horn, also known as the shofar, is mentioned throughout biblical text. In ancient biblical times, it was used to gather and assemble the people of Israel, as a call to prepare for battle, and a way to announce celebrations and feasts.
This traditional “trumpet,” as some call it, is used in many churches as a call to worship and prayer. Some believe that the first shofar was taken from the ram given to Abraham by God to sacrifice in place of Isaac. These authentic ram’s horns come from natural annual shedding, and each shofar has a unique look, feel, texture, and color.
“When you go to war in your land against the enemy who oppresses you, then you shall sound an alarm with the trumpets, and you will be remembered before the Lord your God, and you will be saved from your enemies. Also in the day of your gladness, in your appointed feasts, and at the beginning of your months, you shall blow the trumpets over your burnt offerings and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; and they shall be a memorial for you before your God: I am the Lord your God.”—Numbers 10:9-10
