Olive Oil and Pregnancy

Olive Oil and Pregnancy According to the International Olive Council, an intergovernmental forum for the olive industry:

“It has been demonstrated that the post-natal development of babies of mothers who consumed olive oil when pregnant is better in terms of height, weight, behavior and psychomotor reflexes.”

Because Extra Virgin Olive Oil is a great natural source of vitamin E, it is considered an important part of a pregnancy and post-natal diet. Among other things, vitamin E dissolves fat and helps treat and/or prevent heart diseases, blood vessel disorders, and allows for proper fetus growth and development.

The food that we eat plays a key role in fetal development and a baby’s growth during breast feeding. Vitamin E is often taken as a supplement by women who are in late pregnancy to help prevent complications with pre-eclampsia (high blood pressure). It is one of many pre-natal vitamins, and has a recommended minimum dose of 15 mg daily.

Did you know that during labor, vitamin E is concentrated in the mammary glands so that it is readily available for nursing?

Our bodies are wonderfully made!

Beyond being an excellent natural source for vitamin E, olive oil’s ratio of linoleic acid to essential fatty acid is similar to that of breast milk—helping to provide the right balance of essential fatty acids for mothers and newborns.

Vitamin E and Olive Oil are also powerful sources of antioxidants that help maintain and repair skin, leaving healthy, stretch-mark free skin!

If you are a pregnant or nursing mother, consider increasing your intake of Extra Virgin Olive Oil to absorb the healthy fat, vitamin E, and antioxidants you need to keep you and your baby healthy. It can even be used topically to avoid stretch marks during pregnancy!

Our Mission

Our mission is to create a partnership between the Evangelical community and the nation of Israel; this partnership will produce employment, income, and revenue for humanitarian aid projects in Israel. We envision the planting of one-million olive trees over the next seven years. This relationship was prophesied in the Bible centuries ago, that the foreigners and strangers (those not of Jewish descent) would help rebuild the walls of Israel and cause the desert to bloom (Isa 35:1). Among other things, this reforestation is an environmental blessing for the entire region. May all who participate in this project be blessed body, soul and spirit; it is time for you to take root in Israel!
