President Trump Proclaims Faith and Turns Our Nation to God

turn to God

What does our nation need to do in this moment of the COVID-19 crisis? If biblical history has shown us anything, it is this; once we turn back to God in faith, we will receive restoration, forgiveness, and revival. The Bible proclaims it is by faith we are saved (Ephesians 2:8).

What a beautiful thing!

Faith is Being Certain of Unseen Things

Hebrews 11 starts by stating that faith is being certain of what is hoped for and what is unseen. The Passion Translation says this…

Faith, prayer, and understanding God’s sovereignty over this world are what positions us, and our nation, to overcome.

Faith and Prayer Turns Our Nation to God

It is well known that President Donald Trump, Vice President Mike Pence, and others spend countless moments in prayer in the White House.

Can we agree that this is exactly what our nation needs to do right now?

Some argue that President Trump’s prayerful and biblical worldview administration shows weakness by seeking God’s counsel in prayer during this time…

“Thomas Chatterton Williams, a writer for New York Magazine and Harper's Magazine tweeted about the photo [of the president, vice president, and others bowing their heads in prayer] and it took off like wildfire. He tweeted the following: Mike Pence and his coronavirus emergency team praying for a solution. We are so screwed. A tweet by Playboy White House Correspondent Brian Karem chimed in with this: Clear that @vp and @realdonaldtrump are in over their heads. POTUS is literally praying for a miracle to make coronavirus go away. Thousands of others followed with snarky tweets of their own.”i

We must heed the warning in Galatians 6:7, “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.”

Sadly, Some See Turning to God as a Sign of Weakness

Unfortunately, many in this country do not understand the biblical principle of 2 Chronicles 7:14…

Fortunately, Our Nation Has YOU! You and President Trump Will Turn Our Nation Back to God

Fortunately, our nation has a president and a strong evangelical community—YOU—backing the biblical principle of humble surrender and prayer. This is what will restore this nation!

President Trump has declared that “we lift our voices in prayer and we raise our sight to the glory of God.”

He has said, “A nation without faith cannot endure, because justice, goodness and peace cannot prevail without the glory of Almighty God. For America to thrive in the 21st Century we must renew faith and family as the center of American life.” ii

Pastors on Trump’s advisory board are praying in agreement with God’s Word in 2 Timothy 2:1-3. They are praying for the administration to have wisdom, strength, and stamina.

They are praying for the nation to be restored physically, economically, and spiritually.

What is even greater?

Vice President Mike Pence told CBN News this…

“There is prayer going on all the time in the White House. Whether it’s public meetings or not, I’ve lost track of the number of times the president has either nudged me or nudged another member of the cabinet and said, ‘Let’s start this meeting with prayer.’ He is someone who really believes in the power of prayer and the importance of faith in the American life…”iii

People want to criticize the power of prayer and our president, but we know that without God guiding our administration, our nation will not move forward.

Hebrews 11:6 says…

Our president is boldly proclaiming that faith is the way to restore our nation. During this season of uncertainty, faith is what we must seek. We must persevere through this hour and into election season and continue to stand with an administration who aligns with this biblical truth.

Biblical Heroes Give Us the Key to Our Nation’s Restoration

The key to restoration is faith! Hebrews 11 outlines the biblical principle of faith that our spiritual forefathers had. The chapter tells us how faith was credited to them and the nation of Israel, and therefore they were able to trust and obey God, blessing their nation.

By faith Abraham, Isaac, Joseph, Moses, and more conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and gained what was promised.

The Apostle Paul writes…

“And what more could I say to convince you? For there is not enough time to tell you of the faith of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel, and the prophets. Through faith’s power they conquered kingdoms and established true justice. Their faith fastened onto their promises and pulled them into reality! It was faith that shut the mouth of lions, put out the power of raging fire, and caused many to escape certain death by the sword. In their weakness their faith imparted power to make them strong! Faith sparked courage within them and they became mighty warriors in battle, pulling armies from another realm into battle array.—Hebrews 11:32-34 (TPT)

As we can see, faith is what makes a hero. Faith is what you have. Faith is what President Donald J. Trump and Vice President Mike Pence have. So, let us move forward as mighty warriors in this battle and persevere with faith, turning our nation to God!
