Seven Prayers for Israel

How do you pray for Israel? Are there specific prayers for Israel? What Bible verses can we come into agreement with for the peace of God’s nation?

Many Believers are asking these questions today. They understand that Israel is the apple of God’s eye and that the future of their nation and the world hinges upon Israel’s restoration.

As the Body of Christ, we are commissioned to spread the love of Jesus around the world. We cannot ignore what the Bible says about Israel, especially as we witness events falling into place just as the Bible prophesied.

We are to lift up prayers for Israel and the peace of Jerusalem. In fact, Apostle Paul writes in his letter to the Church in Rome…

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.”—Romans 1:16 (emphasis added)

Many Have Forgotten, but God Is Calling You to Remember | Prayers for Israel

Many in the Church today have forgotten that the gospel was for the Jew first. As for those who want to argue that the Jews rejected Jesus and are therefore forgotten, they are blind to the fact that God’s plan is to bring them back—rejoicing in His firstborn as the father rejoices at the return of the prodigal son.

“I say then, has God cast away His people? Certainly not! For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. God has not cast away His people whom He foreknew. Or do you not know what the Scripture says of Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel…”

“I say then, have they stumbled that they should fall? Certainly not! But through their fall, to provoke them to jealousy, salvation has come to the Gentiles. Now if their fall is riches for the world, and their failure riches for the Gentiles, how much more their fullness!”—Romans 11:1-2, 11-12

Let us come together in agreement for the restoration of Israel and the peace of Jerusalem. Let’s unite in our prayers for Israel…

Seven Prayers for Israel:

1. Prayer for Israel’s Land

Father God, in Jesus’ name, I acknowledge that You love Israel with an everlasting love. You desire to see her restoration manifested as it is written in the books of Heaven. I pray for the peace of Jerusalem and the assurance of Israel’s salvation. Let the nations see her righteousness. I pray in agreement with Isaiah 62:4…

“You shall no longer be termed Forsaken, nor shall your land any more be termed Desolate; but you shall be called Hephzibah, and your land Beulah; for the Lord delights in you and your land shall be married.”

2. Prayer for Israel’s Leaders

Father God, in Jesus’ name, I acknowledge You have appointed governing authorities, which have been established by You for Your will to be done on earth as it is in Heaven. I pray in agreement with Zechariah 12 that those authorities will align their hearts with Yours…

“And the governors of Judah shall say in their heart, ‘The inhabitants of Jerusalem are my strength in the Lord of hosts, their God.’”Zechariah 12:5

3. Prayer for Israel to Be Evidence of God’s Mercy as Her People Walk Humbly in Him

Father God, in Jesus’ name, I decree and declare that You have positioned Israel as a holy people, chosen to be a special treasure above all the peoples of the earth, according to Deuteronomy 7.

I pray in agreement with Deuteronomy 7:6-7 and Micah 6:8 that as a nation, they stand as a place where Your justice and mercy are evident as they walk humbly in You…

“For you are a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth. The Lord did not set His love on you nor choose you because you were more in number than any other people, for you were the least of all peoples;”—Deuteronomy 7:6-7

“He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?”—Micah 6:8

4. Prayer for Israel’s Inhabitants to Find Refuge and Strength

Father God, in Jesus’ name, I believe and agree that Your steadfast covering does not waver. I pray that those who are brokenhearted, poor, widowed, and orphaned find their refuge and strength under Your wings, according to Psalm 91…

“He shall cover you with His feathers, and under HIs wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler.”Psalm 91:4

5. Prayer for Israel’s Borders to Be Established

Father God, in Jesus’ name, I come into agreement and declare that Your plans for Israel’s restoration are being fulfilled. I decree that the land is her inheritance. I pray that her borders are established, according to Ezekiel 47…

“Thus says the Lord God: ‘These are the borders by which you shall divide the land as an inheritance among the twelve tribes of Israel… It shall be that you will divide it by lot as an inheritance for yourselves, and for the strangers who dwell among you and who bear children among you. They shall be to you as native-born among the children of Israel; they shall have an inheritance with you among the tribes of Israel. And it shall be that in whatever tribe the stranger dwells, there you shall give him his inheritance,’ says the Lord God.”—Ezekiel 47:13, 22-23

6. Prayer for Your Nation to Align with Israel

Father God, in Jesus’ name, I acknowledge that You have appointed authorities over the nations. I decree that my nation comes into alignment with Israel as You separate the sheep nations from the goat nations. I pray the leaders of my nation will stand with Israel and be found on Your right, according to Joel 3 and Matthew 25…

“For behold, in those days and at that time, when I bring back the captives of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; and I will enter into judgment with them there on account of My people, My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; they have also divided up My land.”—Joel 3:1-2

“All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left.”—Matthew 25:32-33

7. Prayer for Preparations to Be Made for Jesus to Take His Throne in Jerusalem

Father God, in Jesus’ name, I decree and declare that Your reign in Jerusalem will be established and the government will rest upon Your shoulders. I pray that You encourage Your Church and Bride to be empowered to prepare for Your coming. I pray that the lands are prepared for Your return, according to Isaiah 9…

“Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.”—Isaiah 9:7
