Trump’s Pandemic Policies | Serving the People. Saving Lives. Doing What is Right.

COVID-19

It’s not shocking to turn on the news today and see the media reports that berate our president. Sadly, because of the media, many are unaware of Trump’s pandemic policies that have saved thousands of lives physically and economically.

President Trump provides daily briefings about the pandemic, including economic progress and management. Even though these briefings are viewed by a large number of the American people, there are many statements that are missed.

There are a number of ways Trump’s pandemic policies are serving the people and saving lives. Below is a list of 3 action steps taken by President Trump that aren’t getting the kind of recognition they deserve.

3 Ways Trump’s Pandemic Policies are Serving the American People

1. Trump’s pandemic policies are saving lives.

When our nation first heard about the coronavirus in February and March—and recognized that it was highly contagious and transferable—projected death tolls skyrocketed. No one seemed to understand what they were dealing with.

By mid-March, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) developed a model that…

suggested that between 160 million and 210 million Americans could contract the disease over as long as a year. Based on mortality data and current hospital capacity, the number of deaths under the CDC's scenarios ranged from 200,000 to as many as 1.7 million.”i (emphasis added)

This, of course, sent the public into a panic. In response to the pandemic, President Trump took actionHe declared a national emergency, worked with public and private sectors to put pandemic polices into place, and began developing medical technology and to combat the disease.

The result of Trump’s pandemic policies drastically lowered number of coronavirus deaths.

US News & World Report wrote at the beginning of April…

“THE TOTAL NUMBER OF coronavirus deaths in the U.S. may be lower than previous estimates, according to the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington School of Medicine.

The new assessment predicts approximately 81,766 deaths, with a range between 49,431 and 136,401. That is a downward revision of the estimates of the higher end. The institute also projects deaths from the virus will peak earlier than it estimated before, with the likely peak on April 16, with a projected 3,130 deaths nationwide on that day, according to IHME.”ii (emphasis added)

The Takeaway…

President Trump saw a threat to the livelihood of the American people. Their health and safety had an invisible enemy, and he put policies into place to combat it.

2. President Trump’s pandemic policies are preserving and positioning the economy for a comeback.

President Trump’s economic relief plan provides critical support for American businesses and families. Some want to criticize the president for not helping or caring about the American people. But this couldn’t be further from the truth.

He has worked closely with lawmakers from both democratic and republican parties to get emergency legislation passed quickly so that the American people can cope physically and economically with the pandemic.

On April 14, 2020, President Trump…

… announced many of the esteemed executives, economists, scholars, and industry leaders who together will form various Great American Economic Revival Industry Groups.  These bipartisan groups of American leaders will work together with the White House to chart the path forward toward a future of unparalleled American prosperity.  The health and wealth of America is the primary goal, and these groups will produce a more independent, self-sufficient, and resilient Nation.”iii

The Takeaway…

President Trump has worked with the American people to create a strong economy. He isn’t about to let that vision vanish.

Although this is a time of shutting down for many, he continues to work with small businesses to provide needed support to persevere through this pandemic. He has stated that it is these small businesses that are the backbone of this great nation and a strong economy.

“We are deeply committed to ensuring that small businesses have the support they require.”—President Donald Trumpiv

3. President Trump’s pandemic policies create hope and a vision for the future.

There is a narrative by those who oppose President Trump that his statements give false hope. But the fact is, our president has always projected a hope and future of prosperity and strength for the American people. There is no denying he is one to take action once those statements are made. He does not sit idle.

From his tagline of, “Let’s Make America Great Again, to his statements of reopening parts of the nation as soon as possible, his optimism has provided a vision for where he wants this nation to go.

In a time of oppression and lawlessness, doesn’t it make sense to have a leader who can provide hope and a vision for where we will go?

…We’re seeing light at the end of the tunnel. You see it. I see it. And I think we’re going to go like a rocket ship once we get back to business. There’s a lot of pent-up energy and demand.

As our nation wages the war against the invisible enemy, we’re grateful for the many ways in which your companies have answered the call to join our national endeavor. Thank you for donating tens of millions of dollars.

But thank you very much for donating tens of millions of dollars for vital supplies and for supporting small businesses across the country.

America’s small businesses are the backbone of our communities. When you look and we hear all about the big companies that we know so well, but the small companies, when added together, are actually a bigger force. A lot of people don’t understand that. You do. We do.

Our nation’s 30 million small businesses employ nearly half of our workforce. My administration will continue to take the boldest action in history to bring immediate relief to our small businesses.v

The Takeaway…

President Trump’s pandemic policies are created to preserve the economy and position it to bounce back as soon as possible. He supports small businesses and values a strong American workforce, taking us back to the foundations of this great nation.

Trump’s Pandemic Policies | The Big Picture

President Trump is criticized for his imperfections by those who oppose him. However, we understand that there is no policy or person that is unblemished.

But how different would our nation be if people replaced an anti-Trump narrative with a pro-American one?

Those who are pro-American, make your voice heard and continue the good work of standing for what is right.
