“In the future, when you enter your country, you will plant many kinds of trees for food…”—Leviticus 19:23

Did you know that this Saturday, February 11th, the 15th day of the Hebrew month of Shevat, Israel celebrates the festival of Tu B’Shevat? Oftentimes referred to as the ‘New Year of the Trees,’ or the ‘Israeli Arbor Day,’ this festival celebrates the mystery and grandeur of God’s nature, and the beginning of a new season of growth.

Tu B’Shevat comes at a time of the year when the winter rains have typically ended in Israel, signaling a season of new life—a season when a new cycle of tree growth and fruit bearing begins! Thus, it is not only a time to plant new trees, but also a time when established trees are ready to begin their cycle of bearing fruit.

On Tu B’Shevat, families celebrate by gathering together in communities throughout the Nation of Israel to plant new trees as a symbol of strength and prosperity. What a wonderful opportunity this is to encourage God’s children to give thanks for new life and for the new cycle of growth and fruitfulness to come!

Wouldn’t it be a wonderful opportunity and blessing if you could literally join hands with the Nation of Israel during this season of Tu B’Shevat and plant a tree deep into her rich soil as your symbol of friendship and solidarity—to show her that you truly do care?

Today, through various My Olive Tree projects, we have made this vision into a reality! Through the sponsorship of a tree with My Olive Tree, not only will you plant new life deep into the rich soil of Israel, but your gift will also ensure that your olive tree is nurtured and sustained throughout the first seven years of its life—bringing it into full maturity… bringing it into strength and prosperity!

Did you know that when you sponsor a tree with My Olive Tree that it immediately begins to bear the fruit of employment within the Nation of Israel? Yes, your olive tree will not only provide much-needed income to feed and sustain families, but also, as your tree begins to produce fruit, that very fruit will result in funding humanitarian aid projects throughout the Nation of Israel. So, when you sponsor a tree through My Olive Tree you can be assured that you are not only merely planting a tree, but that you are bringing new life, strength, and prosperity into the Nation of Israel for generations to come!

On this Tu B’Shevat, would you please consider becoming a part of the prophetic restoration of Israel as foretold by the prophet Isaiah—as those foreigners and strangers who would help rebuild the walls of Israel and those who would cause the desert to bloom? Would you join hands with the Nation of Israel during this Tu B’Shevat festival and sponsor a tree with My Olive Tree?
